Diagnostic testing for your car is essential for figuring out what issues or faults your car may have, from minor issues to preventing serious damage. Our experienced and friendly team have a simple objective to fix your car and get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

What is a diagnostic check?

When warning lights appear on your dashboard, it can be worrying! A detailed auto diagnostics check can identify the problem with your vehicle before damage occurs.

Modern vehicles possess an on-board computer called an Engine Control Unit (ECU), which constantly observes the performance for the vehicle. Sensors around the vehicle feedback to the ECU if there is a problem, from which the ECY will then generate an error code.

There is a wide range of potential error codes that can occur, many of which can only be examined by specialist vehicle diagnostic equipment. We are a friendly bunch of experienced mechanics and work with the most sophisticated car diagnostic equipment in Hull and the surrounding area.

What does diagnostic equipment test for?

We plug into your vehicle with our specialist auto diagnostic equipment to take various information or live data from the various control units in your vehicle. Our advanced diagnostic equipment assesses the error codes produced by the vehicles ECU, in order to obtain a full explanation of the issues at hand.

Often, we investigate a warning light error before re-setting any fault codes and advising of any problems. Typical matters which we frequently deal with include:

  • Engine management warning lights
  • Electrical faults
  • Noises and rattle
  • Starting or ignition problems
  • Alarm or immobiliser settings
  • Airbag and SRS systems
